A lovely German model 1884/98 knife bayonet in a British 1907 pattern leather scabbard, that has been carefully shortened to fit the blade which is very unusual. This example of bayonet is the first pattern with wood grips so it's circa WW1. Both the scabbard and bayonet have their markings including "15. R 8 45" for weapon number 45/ 8th Company 15th Inf. Regt. A good honest piece.
