Very good old restrike of a very rare medal awarded to Indian soldiers, called the 'Martyr of India' medal. Interesting if confusing history with this! The decorations of Azad Hind were instituted by Subhas Chandra Bose, while in Germany during WW2, initially for the Indian Legion, awarded for gallantry to Indian soldiers. Both Indian and German soldiers were eligible for this medal.
Later, it was to be awarded by the Azad Hind government for the Indian Army during its campaign in South-East Asia, awarded to Indian soldiers killed in action between 1942 - 1945.
