Original WW1 regimental sweetheart brooch 11th County of London Battalion (Finsbury Rifles)

A nice example of this scarce sweetheart brooch from World War One.  It bears the battle honour "South Africa 1900-02" below the King's Crown, "Finsbury Rifles" at its centre, and the motto "PRO ARIS ET FOCIS" ("for hearth and home") on the arms of the cross.  The pin on the reverse of the badge will not release from the c-hook which has closed up enough to stop it, and we do not want to force it.

Some of the original enamel has chipped away due to age, but does not detract too much from this pretty little badge. Badge height 31 mm approx, badge width 26 mm approx.
