Original British 5th Anti-Aircraft Division cloth insignia patches. World War Two.

Original British 5th Anti-Aircraft Division cloth insignia patches. World War Two.

£85.00

An original and still un-cut length of 7 x cloth insignia patches, clearly straight from factory production, but never issued.

Overall condition - With some folding between each patch and general light creases, otherwise very nice for age.

The 5th Anti-Aircraft Division was formed in 1938. Divisional H.Q. was at Reading, and the badge design was a falling German Dornier in black, nose downwards with five red flames, as it is being shot down.

The divisions main commitment was the A.A. defence of the Portsmouth and Southampton areas, and dealt with the German 'tip and run' raids on the South Coast.

World War Two.
