Rare WW2 British Infantry helmet, 'B.I.O.', Brigade Intelligence Officer

This is a very rare WW2 British Infantry helmet with original stencilled lettering on the front and back, B.I.O. for Brigade Intelligence Officer. It is complete with liner, tie lace, and elasticated webbing chinstrap which are all good. It is dated 1940 on one of the four black support straps inside the helmet at the top, and stamped with the size which is always difficult to see.

Overall condition, in our opinion it has seen plenty of service, so around 30% - 40% original finish remains, with a general rusty patina appearance all over. It shows general wear and tear but overall appearance is not that bad for this age.
